Long-Term Substitute - English Teacher
Long-Term English Teacher Substitute – Benson Public Schools District
Benson Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Long-Term Substitute English Teacher from approximately August 2026 - January 2027.
Job Summary: Responsibilities include teaching English Language Arts to students in grades 7–12, developing and implementing engaging curriculum, maintaining accurate academic records, supporting curriculum development, and fostering a respectful, collaborative classroom environment aligned with the school’s mission.
Education/Certification/Licensure Requirement:

Daily Rate range for this position is: $266.85 - $488.76/day

Benson Public Schools is seeking a highly energetic individual for a full-time position of ELL Paraprofessional.
DESCRIPTION: The 6–12 ELL Paraprofessional provides in-class, small-group, and one-on-one support to English Language Learners across grade levels and subject areas. This role collaborates with teachers to assist students in understanding course content, developing academic language, and navigating school routines. The ideal candidate is patient, flexible, and passionate about supporting multilingual students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school degree, GED, or equivalent experience; and
2. Holds one of the following to meet the Highly Qualified Paraprofessional requirement or will obtain within the probationary period:
- At least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits in Minnesota)
- Passing score of 65% (or higher) for the Instructional Support test and 70% (or higher) for the Knowledge and Application test on the Minnesota Service Cooperatives ParaEducator Proctored Test
- Passing score of 460 (or higher) on the ParaPro Assessment
- Obtain the PELSB Paraprofessional Credential
- An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree
Starting range for this position is: $17.05 - $21.72/hour

Student Success Coordinator (grades 6-12)
Student Success Coordinator (Grades 6-12)

Position Type: Full-Time, School-Year Position

Position Overview
The Student Success Coordinator supports students in grades 6-12 by monitoring academic progress, providing interventions, and partnering with staff and families to ensure student success. Thís position focuses on helping students complete missing work, access academic support, and receive timely interventions to improve learning
outcomes. The coordinator also works closely with classroom teachers to identify student needs and implement academic supports.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Support & Monitoring
- Track and maintain records of student missing assignments and failing grades.
- Communicate regularly with teachers to gather academic updates and coordinate support plans.
- Meet individually or in small groups with students to provide targeted academic assistance and study hall support to complete missing work.
- Offer before-school homework help and academic support sessions.
- Collaborate with students to develop strategies for organization, time management, and assignment completion.
lnterventions
- Work closely with teachers, counselors, and support teams to identify students of concern and implement appropriate supports.
- Provide tiered interventions for students who demonstrate academic or organizational challenges.
- Coordinate and document intervention opportunities in alignment with Special Education protocols prior to evaluation or testing.
Communication & Family Engagement
- Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding excessive missing work, academic struggles, or failing grades.
- Participate in student support meetings as needed to share progress and intervention plans.
- Serve as a liaison between students, teachers, families, and support staff to promote student accountability and success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and background in education or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Detail-oríented with the ability to track data and follow through on interventions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with students, staff, and famílies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Commitment to supporting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Starting range for this position is: $21.00 - $22.00/hour

School Board Member Opening
Benson Public Schools Board of Education seeks applicants to fill the unexpired term of board member Gary Williams, who is formally resigning on June 30, 2026.
The board must name a replacement within 30 days of the resignation. The newly appointed member will serve until December 31, 2026. If the appointed member desires to continue serving, he or she must run in the next general election.
